In 2018, several hundred apple trees were planted on the farm and that was followed up with one hundred more apple trees as well as a great deal of berry bushes in 2019. With those additions, Hatchet Creek Farms have grown much more diversified than when the farm was first created simply with vegetables in mind.
The bulk of the area is devoted to apple trees. However, a great number of berry bushes are contained in the windbreak rows surrounding the orchard, as well as rows within the orchard as well. The berry varieties include raspberries, currants, gooseberries, jostaberries, elderberries, chokecherries, serviceberries, and aronia bushes.
